Commodore Users Group of Ireland
Retro lovers unite for a not-for-profit, annual meeting of enthusiasts of Commodore, Amiga and life in general. Active since 1983, we meet (almost) every January in Athlone and anyone can book a ticket. We like games, hardware, software, demos or just meeting like-minded people.
Event
CUGI hosts the national Amiga Ireland event and tickets are available from Eventbrite. Please follow us [ there ] to get notified about the next event. For local events, sign up to the newsletter below.
Next event: No plans for 2025. See bottom of page for local groups.
Ticket types are generally:
- Weekend: Attend the full event from Friday 1pm - Saturday night.
- Saturday: Just Saturday.
You can also include other things with your tickets/order that we'll have ready for you on arrival:
- Merchandise: T-shirts and sometimes mugs.
- Extras: A buffet or set meal. If we do this, a sample menu will be available in advance.
Read on to learn more about a typical event...
- Exhibits of hardware and software
- Game Competitions like SWOS, Rogue Declan - you can also host your own
- Raffle and competition prizes are donation-based, e.g. trophies, hardware, software, books and games. A previous highlight was a donated, boxed Amiga 500!
- Shopping We often have hardware and software vendors as well as a hardware repair team at the event
- Guests, when we have them, can be virtual or in-person. See previous guests [ here ]
- Workshops: Get creating on Amiga. We generally aim at introductions rather than advanced topics.
Workshops have defined learning outcomes. Follow guidance on your Amiga and try to achieve the objective. See more details [ here ].
Immerse yourself in the past and future of Commodore and Amiga loveliness and meet like minded folks from Ireland/Northern Ireland and those who travel from Europe and beyond.
